We have carried out Visual and Sensory Aspect assessments for numerous local authorities using the definitive LANDMAP method. This gives us particular understanding of the area’s character. The work involved desk study followed by extensive site surveys. Each study area was divided into a number of aspect areas with distinctive characteristics which tend to be at a finer grain than English landscape character areas. The outputs included database records for each aspect area, GIS mapping and a technical report. The database and GIS now form part of the national dataset in Lle:
