Sheepdrove Farm wind turbines
We carried out a landscape and visual impact assessment of proposed turbines in the North Wessex Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The proposals were for one 100kW (47m to blade tip) turbine and one domestic turbine. The assessment was undertaken in line with GLVIA. Issues addressed included the sensitivity of the wider landscape including views from hillforts and a national trail. This was balanced by the relationship of the proposed turbines to the new landscape patterns of the progressive organic farm in which they were located. We used a crane to illustrate the scale of the turbines (see photo) as well photomontages.
