We have been very lucky to have been awarded many projects since September 2018- ranging from landscape, seascape and visual sensitivity to a new type of landscape designation considering natural capital. Several studies have been for new clients who we hope to work with for years to come. An example is with Wychavon and Malvern Hills District Councils where we are assessing the landscape and visual sensitivity of the fringes of the Malvern Hills AONB around Malvern (see above) and the Cotswolds AONB around Broadway and Bredon Hill. This baseline information includes an innovative approach to assessing visual effects and will help site allocations. Another is for Conwy Council where we are assessing pressured green wedges and sites to assist in their fast track LDP review. We are collaborating with Craggatak and Charlie Falzon to explore the potential landscape status for the wonderful and wild Cambrian Mountains in Wales for CMI. This has involved understanding the natural capital of the area and putting forward new options for giving the area the landscape status it deserves. Finally, offshore, we are assessing where windfarms may be appropriate in the inshore and offshore Wales Marine Plan areas through assessment of visual effects, seascape value and sensitivity for an old and valued client, NRW. We will provide more details of these exciting projects on the website in the coming months.
