We are delighted to have been commissioned by Suffolk County Council to look at seascape sensitivity to offshore wind energy off the Suffolk coast. This follows on from our offshore energy strategic environmental assessment (OESEA) seascape study and MMO seascape sensitivity guidance. The study will consider how national guidance and data and can be applied at a local level to inform development in the Round 4 bidding area. We will look at the county coast and related inshore and offshore marine plan areas.
The Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB and associated Heritage Coast run from Felixstowe to the south to Kessingland, near Lowestoft to the north. It is a low-lying coast with distinctive coastal features such as the shingle spit at Orford Ness, associated tranquil marshes and estuaries and picturesque historic coastal towns such as Aldeburgh and Southwold. We will be reporting to the Council and partners in due course.
